Fit and handling

Full-size or one-handed: choose the saw format

A compact one-handed saw and a two-handed reciprocating saw have different grip and handling arrangements. “Compact” can also describe a smaller two-handed body, so check the exact format rather than relying on that word alone.

Consider the work position, material, blade, power supply and the operating instructions. A pivoting shoe, orbital mode and tool-free blade change serve different jobs. A tool-only package needs compatible power equipment; a kit's battery and charger must be checked individually.
