Bare tool or kit: count the battery system too

A “bare tool” can be a sensible buy when you already own compatible batteries and a charger. It can also make an apparently inexpensive saw an incomplete setup. Compare what the exact package contains, not what a product family, image gallery or reseller title suggests.

Compact RIDGID NUKE: control features versus the package

With compact one-handed format, cordless use, a documented pivoting shoe and tool-free blade change required, 12 current configurations match, including RIDGID RNKSRS01B. Read its exact tool-only review, then run the same four feature and format conditions.

The exact RNKSRS01B page identifies the compact cordless saw and lists the control features; its box list contains the saw and a wood blade, not a battery or charger. Read the RNKSRS01B tool-only assessment and find the same four feature and format conditions.

Adding a required battery and charger narrows the same compact cordless control group to six packages; RNKSRS01B is excluded because both are sold separately. Compare the matching R8648K kit with the excluded RNKSRS01B tool-only package, then apply the same conditions plus both in-box requirements.

Do not treat a battery shown on a bundle image as part of the RNKSRS01B tool-only SKU. Compare its exact box list with the RIDGID R8648K kit assessment and apply the same conditions plus both in-box requirements.

The current matcher returns 55 reviewed configurations with an included battery; RNKSRS01B is excluded because RIDGID's exact package lists no battery. Compare the included-battery R8647KN and RRS01K1 package reviews, then run the same required-battery choice.

The current matcher returns 55 reviewed configurations listing an included charger; RNKSRS01B is excluded because RIDGID's exact package lists no charger. Compare the included-charger R8647KN and RRS01K1 package reviews, then run the same required-charger choice.

Three FLEX four-tool kits, three different packages

The FLEX FXM401-2A, FXM402-2B and FXM404-2A each include the FX2271 reciprocating saw, but that shared saw does not make the kits interchangeable. FXM401-2A adds a work light, drill and impact driver with two 2.5Ah packs; FXM402-2B adds a circular saw, drill and grinder with one 2.5Ah and one 5.0Ah pack; FXM404-2A adds an oscillating multi-tool, drill and impact driver with two 2.5Ah packs. Each exact package page names a 160W charger and FLEX bag. The FXM402 page lists two saw blades; FXM404 does not specify blade contents, so do not transfer the other package's blade list.

The FXM402 and FXM404 package pages give the FX2271 saw weight as 7.4 lb without battery. FXM401's page instead says 7.3 lb on the same no-battery basis while its standalone page says 7.4 lb; FLEX does not explain that discrepancy. None of these figures is installed-saw or whole-kit carry weight. Compare the exact component mix and box list in the FXM401-2A review, FXM402-2B review and FXM404-2A review. Find current full-size FLEX orbital-capable saw packages with both battery and charger listed.

Package must supply a battery

The current matcher returns 55 reviewed configurations with an included battery. RIDGID RRS01K1 contributes one listed 2.0 Ah MAX Output battery; the exact page does not identify its component model number, runtime or match to a particular job. The RRS01B tool-only page says its battery is sold separately. Compare the RRS01K1 kit and RRS01B tool-only assessments beside R8647KN and R8647B; then find packages that document an included battery. This count supersedes older battery totals on this page.

Package must supply a charger

The current matcher returns 55 reviewed configurations listing an included charger. RRS01K1 adds an 18V charger, but its exact page does not name the component model or charging rate; the separate RRS01B page says the charger is sold separately. Do not infer charger identity from a photo or transfer it across suffixes. Review RRS01K1 beside RRS01B and the R8647KN/R8647B package pair, then find packages with a documented charger. This count supersedes older charger totals on this page.

Orbital saw with battery and charger in the box

With selectable orbital action and both a battery and charger required, ten current packages match; R8647KN qualifies, while tool-only R8647B does not. The KN page lists a 4.0 Ah MAX Output battery and 18V charger but names neither component model number. The manual also bars orbital mode with a metal-cutting blade. Read the R8647KN kit review and R8647B comparison; find the same control-and-package combination. This current intersection supersedes older counts on this page.

Earlier-inclusive full-size cordless kits

With earlier models included, forty-seven full-size cordless packages list both battery and charger; the R8647KN kit meets that condition, but the R8647B tool-only SKU does not. Its exact package is one 4.0 Ah MAX Output battery and one 18V charger, without published component model numbers. Compare R8647KN with R8647B; apply those exact earlier-inclusive conditions. This count supersedes older totals on this page.

Full-size cordless orbital kit

For current full-size cordless use with selectable orbital action and battery and charger required, ten packages match, including R8647KN; R8647B lacks the two package components. The manual-supported orbital selector belongs to the shared saw body, whereas the in-box battery and charger are SKU-specific. Read the R8647KN and R8647B reviews, then find this current-only feature-and-kit intersection. This total supersedes older counts on this page.

Shared saw controls without a package requirement

With earlier models excluded, full-size cordless operation plus a pivoting shoe and tool-free blade change returns fifty configurations, including both R8647 packages. Their shared R8647 body has those manual-documented controls, but the tool-only R8647B and battery-and-charger R8647KN remain distinct purchases. Compare R8647B with R8647KN; find the same control combination without a kit requirement. This count supersedes older totals on this page.

Shared controls plus battery and charger in one package

For current full-size cordless use with pivoting shoe and tool-free blade change plus both in-box battery and charger, twenty-eight configurations match; R8647KN qualifies and R8647B does not. The manual supports the common R8647 controls, while only the exact KN page lists one 4.0 Ah battery and one 18V charger. Read R8647KN and R8647B, then apply the same current-only feature-and-kit conditions. This count supersedes older totals on this page.

Earlier six-tool FLEX package: check the whole box

The earlier FLEX FXM601-2B differs from the four-tool FXM401/402/404 combos: the English U.S. catalog lists the FX2271 reciprocating saw plus circular saw, hammer drill, impact driver, oscillating multi-tool and work light, with one 2.5Ah and one 5.0Ah battery, 160W charger and bag. Its saw weight is 7.4 lb without battery, not the six-tool carry weight. The catalog does not identify reciprocating-blade contents, so confirm that with the seller rather than assuming another FX2271 kit's blades are included. Read the exact FXM601-2B assessment; run the same earlier, full-size FLEX kit conditions.

Current package and control intersections

With earlier products excluded, full-size cordless operation plus a pivoting shoe and a tool-free blade change returns forty-eight reviewed configurations. RIDGID R8646B and R8646K both satisfy the saw-body controls; only the kit suffix adds battery and charger. This includes seven FLEX 24V configurations: FX2241's manual calls for two hands despite compact styling; FX2271-Z/-1C are separate saw packages; and FXM401-2A, FXM402-2B and FXM404-2A are distinct four-tool kits around the pivoting, three-position-shoe FX2271. The CRAFTSMAN CMCS351 manual calls for two hands and shows its own collar; CMCS300B/M1 share a different two-hand body and twist-open collar. Review R8646B and R8646K with FX2241-Z, FX2241-1A, FX2271-Z, FX2271-1C, FXM401-2A, FXM402-2B, FXM404-2A, CMCS351B, CMCS300B and the M1 kit; run the same format and control conditions.

When those same current-only full-size cordless, pivoting-shoe and tool-free requirements are combined with both battery and charger in the package, twenty-seven configurations remain. RIDGID R8646K adds one R87004 4.0 Ah battery and R86093 charger with its documented common saw body; R8646B is excluded because its exact package is tool-only. FLEX FX2241-1A and FX2271-1C add distinct kits with their own 2.5Ah and 5.0Ah packs; FXM401-2A lists two 2.5Ah packs, FXM402-2B one 2.5Ah and one 5.0Ah pack, and FXM404-2A two 2.5Ah packs. All three combos list a 160W charger and contain the same orbital-capable FX2271 body. Their two tool-only -Z siblings fail the package requirements. CMCS300M1 lists one CMCB204 4.0Ah battery and one CMCB104 fast charger; CMCS300B, CMCS340B and CMCS351B are -B/tool-only packages. Compare R8646K with its R8646B tool-only counterpart and FX2241-1A, FX2271-1C, FXM401-2A, FXM402-2B, FXM404-2A, CMCS300M1, CMCS340B, CMCS351B and the B package; run the same combined conditions.

Twenty-seven current configurations meet the full-size, cordless, pivoting-shoe and tool-free-clamp requirements together with both in-box power components. RIDGID R8646K adds one exact R87004 4.0 Ah battery and R86093 charger with the R8646B saw body; the R8646B tool-only SKU does not meet the package requirements. FLEX FX2241-1A and FX2271-1C are single-saw kits; FXM401-2A, FXM402-2B and FXM404-2A are four-tool packages around the FX2271 with different companion tools and battery mixes. FX2241's manual still directs two-handed operation despite one-handed marketing. CRAFTSMAN CMCS300M1 lists one CMCB204 4.0Ah battery and CMCB104 charger, unlike CMCS300B. Compare the R8646K kit and tool-only sibling with FX2241-1A, FX2271-1C, FXM401-2A, FXM402-2B, FXM404-2A, CMCS300M1 and the tool-only comparison; run the same current-only conditions.

With selectable orbital action and both a battery and charger required, nine current packages match. Bosch GSA18V-110B14 and FLEX FX2271-1C are examples; FXM401-2A, FXM402-2B and FXM404-2A are separate four-tool packages around the same FX2271 saw. Their companions and batteries differ: FXM402 includes one 2.5Ah and one 5.0Ah pack, while FXM401 and FXM404 list two 2.5Ah packs. FXM402 specifies two saw blades; the FXM404 page does not state blade contents. The FX2271 manual prohibits orbital action on metal, regardless of package. Read the exact B14 kit assessment, the FX2271-1C kit, the FXM401-2A combo, FXM402-2B and FXM404-2A. Find the same orbital-capable packages with battery and charger included.

The GSA18V-110B14 documents a Bosch 18V kit with an adjustable shoe, tool-free clamp, battery and charger. Its footplate adjustment uses a hex key, and the package weight basis is not published. Review the exact B14 features and package. Filter the same current control-and-kit combination.

Read the exact model number twice

Suffixes commonly separate an individual tool from a kit or a different battery combination. Milwaukee's official 2821-20 page lists one M18 FUEL SAWZALL and says it works with M18 batteries and chargers. Its 2821-22 listing is a separate two-battery kit that names two XC5.0 packs and an M18/M12 charger in the box. The saw family is shared, but the package content is not. Never carry kit inclusions over to the bare-tool SKU.

Price the working system, not only the tool

If you have the compatible battery platform, compare the condition and model of your pack and charger against the manufacturer's instructions. If you do not, include a correctly matched charger and battery in the total. Runtime depends on the material, blade, pressure, battery size and work pattern; a claimed “more cuts per charge” is not a personal guarantee or a controlled test result for your project.

A kit may include more battery capacity than you need, or the charger you already have may make an extra charger redundant. Weigh that against the maker's exact kit contents and the retailer's actual terms. The relevant question is not which configuration has the longest list, but which one gives you the required tool and usable power without unnecessary duplication.

Check the offer at checkout

Look for the exact catalog number on the listing, package photograph, included-items panel and order confirmation. Search results can mix bare tools, kits, older generations, regional versions and third-party bundles. Confirm that the seller identifies new or used condition, battery model and charger model, and review return and warranty terms. If the included contents do not match the manufacturer's page, resolve that discrepancy before buying.

Here, the 2821-20 assessment concerns the bare-tool configuration only. The 2821-22 is a distinct kit with its own reviewed package assessment, and its included battery and charger must not be transferred to the -20 bare tool. That distinction is deliberately not hidden behind a single family-level review.

Battery-and-charger kit versus a bare-tool weight ceiling

The XT505 contains a full-size Makita LXT saw, two batteries and a charger, but its XRJ04 saw weight is 7.6 lb with one BL1830B battery and its bare-tool mass is unknown; a strict 7 lb tool-only ceiling does not admit it.

The XT505 is a five-tool combo, not a one-saw kit: Makita lists the XRJ04Z saw, four other tools, two BL1830B 3.0Ah packs, a DC18RC charger and bag. The linked XRJ04 manual's 7.6 lb figure is with the 3.0Ah pack, while the XT505 page's 32.19 lb field is package shipping weight. Neither is a bare-tool value. Read the XT505 assessment and keep the package and saw-body mass bases separate. Find the current full-size Makita LXT set with battery and charger. Apply the same requirements with a 7 lb bare-tool ceiling.

No current full-size Makita LXT package in this selected set documents a bare-saw weight of 7 lb or less; the XRJ04 values available for XT505 include a battery or describe shipping, so this no-match is a documentation limit, not proof that the saw exceeds the threshold.

The current matcher returns 55 reviewed configurations with at least one documented battery in the package. RIDGID R8646K qualifies with one named R87004 4.0 Ah battery, as does the distinct R8648K with its listed 2.0 Ah battery; R8646B, R8648B and RNKSRS01B are tool-only. Do not transfer kit contents between either family's suffixes. Compare the R8646K package with the R8646B body, R8648K/R8648B and RNKSRS01B assessments; this updates the prior count. Run the same battery-included choice.

Fifty-one current reviewed configurations document at least one included battery. Hilti SR 2-A12 kit 3603987 adds two B 12-55 packs; the distinct body SKU 2198939 does not list a battery, and the exact kit page does not state pack capacity. FLEX FX2241-1A lists one 2.5Ah pack, FX2271-1C one 5.0Ah pack, FXM401-2A two 2.5Ah packs, FXM402-2B one 2.5Ah and one 5.0Ah pack, and FXM404-2A two 2.5Ah packs. The FX2241-Z and FX2271-Z tool-only pages list no battery. These are distinct package records; battery counts and capacities are not inferred across a shared platform or saw body. CRAFTSMAN CMCS300M1 lists one CMCB204 4.0Ah V20 battery; the exact CMCS300B tool-only package does not include one. The V20 system is separate from any named platform choice in the questionnaire. Read Hilti kit 3603987 beside body 2198939, plus FX2241-1A, FX2271-1C, FXM401-2A, FXM402-2B, FXM404-2A, FX2241-Z and FX2271-Z, then the M1 package assessment and the B package contrast, or filter for the same battery-included requirement.

Current matcher update (2026-11-02): Forty-seven current packages document an included battery, including FLEX FX2241-1A with one 2.5Ah pack and FX2271-1C with one 5.0Ah pack. Bosch GSA18V-110B14 lists one GBA18V80 8 Ah battery, whereas bare-tool GSA18V-083B, GSA18V-24N and GSA18V-280N do not list a battery. The FLEX -Z and Bosch bare-tool packages remain separate no-battery records. Filter the same battery-included choice. This total supersedes earlier checkpoint counts below.

Forty-seven current packages document an included battery; FLEX FX2241-1A and FX2271-1C list different 2.5Ah and 5.0Ah packs, while their -Z siblings are tool-only. Bosch GSA18V-125K14A lists a GBA18V80 8 Ah pack, unlike bare-tool GSA18V-125N. PS60-102 also lists one 2.0Ah pack, unlike bare-tool PS60N. The CRS180-B15 page lists one GBA18V40 4 Ah battery while CRS180B does not. Verify each package against its exact offer. Filter for a documented included battery.

Shortlist answer: the exact package must include a battery

For the exact cordless SKIL kit example, read the RS5870B-10 review; its selected -10 package names a BY519701 2.0Ah battery, unlike the RS582801 tool-only listing.

Forty-seven current packages document an included battery; FLEX FX2241-1A lists one 2.5Ah pack and FX2271-1C one 5.0Ah pack, while their -Z siblings are bare tool. Bosch GSA18V-125K14A lists a GBA18V80 8 Ah pack, unlike bare-tool GSA18V-125N. Bosch GSA18V-125K14A also lists a BC1880 charger, two blades and a hard case; the separate GSA18V-125N page lists only the GSA18V-125 saw and two blades. The CRS180 pair remains distinct: CRS180-B15 lists one GBA18V40 4 Ah pack, while CRS180B lists the saw and two blades but no battery. Do not transfer package contents between saw families or suffixes. Makita's five-tool XT505 combo contains an XRJ04Z saw, two BL1830B 3.0Ah packs and a DC18RC charger; that package is more than a one-saw kit. Other exact LXT, CXT, XGT, SKIL, Bosch, Milwaukee, DEWALT and RYOBI kits have their own specified battery lists. Package-specific evidence matters: an included battery does not establish a charger, cross-brand compatibility or complete-kit weight. See all forty-seven current battery-included packages.

Forty-seven current packages document an included battery. FLEX FX2241-1A and FX2271-1C are current 24V kits with 2.5Ah and 5.0Ah packs, respectively; FX2241-Z and FX2271-Z are tool-only. Other examples include seven M18 kits, M12 2520-21XC, Bosch CRS180-B15/GSA18V-125K14A, Makita five-tool XT505, LXT XRJ01T/XRJ04T/XRJ05T, CXT RJ03R1, and XGT GRJ01M1/GRJ02M1 plus three separate combo packages. The bare-tool CRS180B and GSA18V-125N packages do not include a battery. XRJ01Z is also tool-only, and XRJ01T should not be conflated with discontinued earlier XRJ01's two 3.0Ah packs. Battery inclusion does not prove cross-brand compatibility or known full-kit weight. See all forty-seven current battery-included packages.

Compare the 2821-22, 2621-21 and 2625-21CT M18 kits with Makita XRJ05T and DEWALT DCS312G1, DCS369P1, DCS369E1, DCS367P1, DCS387D1, DCS387P1, DCS382H1, DCS380P1, DCS384WW1, DCS389X1 and DCS389X2. DCS369E1 lists a compact DCBP034 1.7Ah pack and charger; DCS384WW1 lists DCB2108 8Ah and DCB1106, alongside the DCS384 saw and blade. The DCS367P1 and DCS387P1 list DCB205 5Ah packs; H1 lists a 5.0Ah DCBP520 POWERSTACK; D1 lists DCB203 2Ah. The DCS389 X1 and X2 differ by one versus two DCB609 9Ah packs. DCS367B, DCS384B and discontinued DCS380B exclude batteries. The 2722-21HD includes a battery but has a manufacturer part-number conflict; discontinued two-4.0Ah XRJ05M remains opt-in only. See all current battery-included packages in the finder.

The new DCS bare-tool choices are not matches for this package need: DCS387B, DCS382B and DCS389B each document that the battery is sold separately. They are operating-capable tool configurations when paired with compatible power equipment, but that does not make a battery part of the B package.

The current matcher returns 55 reviewed configurations listing an included charger. RIDGID R8646K includes the named R86093 18V charger, and R8648K lists an 18V charger whose model the page does not identify; R8646B, R8648B and RNKSRS01B are tool-only. Verify the exact package rather than transferring parts across suffixes. Read R8646K beside R8646B and compare the R8648K/R8648B pair and RNKSRS01B; this updates the prior count. Run the same charger-included choice.

Fifty-one current reviewed configurations document an included charger. FLEX FX2241-1A and FX2271-1C saw kits plus four-tool FXM401-2A, FXM402-2B and FXM404-2A each list a 160W fast charger; their separate battery lists are not interchangeable. Neither FLEX -Z tool-only package lists a charger; model-sharing does not transfer kit contents. CRAFTSMAN CMCS300M1 includes one CMCB104 V20 fast charger; the CMCS300B tool-only page says the charger is sold separately. Verify the exact suffix and charger input rather than transferring contents to a body package. Read the 3603987 kit list and compare body 2198939; check FX2241-1A, FX2271-1C, FXM401-2A, FXM402-2B, FXM404-2A, FX2241-Z, FX2271-Z, CMCS300M1 and CMCS300B, or filter for the same charger-included condition.

For the SKIL PWR CORE 20 package, read the RS5870B-10 review and verify the named SC535801 charger in the exact -10 offer.

Forty-seven current packages list a charger; FLEX FX2241-1A and FX2271-1C each list a 160W fast charger, unlike tool-only -Z packages. Bosch GSA18V-125K14A includes a BC1880 fast charger, while bare-tool GSA18V-125N does not. The exact K14A page lists its GBA18V80 battery, charger, two blades and case; the -N lists the saw and two blades. Bosch CRS180-B15 includes a GAL18V-40 with its GBA18V40 pack; bare CRS180B lists neither. Makita XT505, XRJ06PT, XRJ01T, XRJ04T and XRJ05T have their exact charger-listed kits, while Z tool-only packages exclude power components. SKIL and XGT kits also have exact charger lists. Confirm the precise SKU; an included battery does not establish a charger or cross-platform compatibility. See all forty-seven current charger-included packages.

Forty-seven current packages list a charger. FLEX FX2241-1A and FX2271-1C add current 24V kits with 160W fast chargers; the -Z tools do not include one. Makita XT505, XRJ01T, XRJ04T and XRJ05T; Bosch CRS180-B15 and GSA18V-125K14A; M18, M12, CXT, XGT, DEWALT, RYOBI and SKIL package suffixes also have distinct listed charger contents. Tool-only XRJ01Z, XRJ04Z, CRS180B and GSA18V-125N do not include chargers. A charger may be redundant if the buyer already owns an appropriate compatible one; package fit must still be checked exactly. See all forty-seven current charger-included packages.

The 2621-21, 2625-21 and 2722-21HD illustrate M18 kit differences; XRJ05T is the current Makita kit. DEWALT's DCS312G1, DCS369P1 and DCS369E1 include distinct 12V and 20V package components. DCS369E1 includes its charger with a compact DCBP034 1.7Ah battery; the exact charger model is not identified in the listed package. Among two-handed 20V packages, DCS367P1 lists DCB115, DCS387D1 lists DCB112, DCS387P1 lists an unnamed charger, DCS382H1 lists DCB1106, and DCS380P1 lists DCB115. The DCS384WW1 kit lists a DCB1106 charger with an 8Ah DCB2108 battery; the tool-only DCS384B package does not. The 60V DCS389X1 and DCS389X2 both include a charger whose model the exact page does not name; their battery counts differ. Tool-only DCS367B and earlier DCS380B list no charger. Confirm the exact charger and platform; an included charger may be redundant if an appropriate one is already owned. See all current charger-included packages in the finder.

The newly reviewed DCS387B, DCS382B and DCS389B B configurations do not meet the charger-included choice: their exact manufacturer pages all list the battery and charger separately. Do not mistake compatible battery operation for a charger in the box.

Hilti B 12 package and weight boundaries

Requiring a battery and charger with a 4 lb bare-tool cap leaves only SR 2-A12 kit 3603987; body SKU 2198939 fails the in-box power-component requirements. The exact list names two B 12-55 packs and one C 4/12-50 110V charger. Its 4.0 lb value is the saw without battery, not the assembled kit. Check the exact kit and body package; apply those same package and weight requirements.

At a 3.5 lb saw-only ceiling, neither SR 2-A12 B 12 configuration qualifies: the exact manual and U.S. page give a 4.0 lb saw-only figure. Battery packs in 3603987 do not reduce that body weight or establish complete kit carry mass. The 4.0 lb saw-only value exceeds the selected 3.5 lb ceiling; do not substitute the pictured battery or claim a loaded-tool weight. Read the body review or the exact kit review; test the same B 12 kit requirements at 3.5 lb.

RYOBI format and package contents must fit together

For current compact one-handed RYOBI ONE+ format with a battery and charger required, two packages match: PSBRS02K1 and P2530. Find this exact current kit combination.

Those are not the same saw: PSBRS02K1 is the brushless PSBRS02 kit with a 2Ah PBP006 pack, PCG002 charger and wood blade; P2530 packages the P2503 pruning saw with a 2Ah PBP006 pack and P118B charger for its stated small-limb use. The compact bare-tool alternatives PSBRS02B and P2503BTL lack the battery and charger condition. Confirm exact kit contents and the intended cutting application before comparing offers. Find the exact current compact RYOBI package intersection.

For current full-size RYOBI 18V ONE+ saws, requiring both a battery and charger returns two kits: PCL515K1 and PBLRS01K1. Test these exact full-size platform and kit requirements.

This result is limited to twelve individually assessed current RYOBI saw configurations, not evidence that no other RYOBI reciprocating-saw package exists; broader manufacturer inventory remains open. The tool-only P519, PCL515B, PBLRS01B and PBLRS02B pages exclude both power components; compact PSBRS01B also excludes both, while corded RJ186V is outside the cordless ONE+ intersection. Test those full-size, platform and kit requirements together.

Makita LXT saw with both battery and charger in the box

With current models only, five full-size Makita 18V LXT packages document both battery and charger: five-tool XT505 with two BL1830B 3.0Ah packs and DC18RC, XRJ01T, XRJ04T, XRJ05T and XRJ06PT, which lists two BL1850B 5.0Ah packs with a DC18RD charger. XT505 is a combo tool package, not a one-saw kit. Tool-only XRJ06Z and the XRJ01Z, XRJ04Z and XRJ05Z Z packages do not meet the in-box requirement. See the current-only combined Makita requirements.

With earlier models included, the full-size Makita LXT battery-and-charger set has ten configurations: current XT505, XRJ01T, XRJ04T, XRJ05T and XRJ06PT, plus earlier XRJ01, XRJ02, XRJ04M, XRJ05M and XRJ06M. XRJ06M's exact flyer lists two BL1840B 4.0Ah batteries, DC18RD charger, one blade and a hard case; Makita identifies XRJ06PT as the replacement kit, whose two packs are 5.0Ah and whose package has a tool bag. XRJ01's flyer lists two BL1830 3.0Ah batteries and a DC18RC charger; XRJ02 also lists two 3.0Ah packs and DC18RC, while XRJ04M/XRJ05M kits use 4.0Ah packs. The separate XRJ06Z and XRJ01Z, XRJ02Z and XRJ03Z tool-only packages do not meet both in-box requirements. These historical package descriptions do not establish present seller condition or stock. Compare earlier and current models under the same requirements.

Full-size M18 saw plus battery and charger

When full-size format, cordless M18 operation, an included battery and an included charger are all essential, the current library returns four exact kits: 2621-21, 2821-21, 2821-22 and 2722-21HD.

The 2821-21 page names the 2821-20 saw and lists one XC5.0 battery plus an M18/M12 charger; the 2821-22 assessment covers two XC5.0 packs. The 2722-21HD assessment covers the orbital saw kit and retains a battery-part conflict; the 2621-21 assessment covers another full-size M18 package. Those package differences matter more than the shared platform label. See the exact combined kit shortlist.

For current compact cordless saws whose sources document both tool-free blade change and a pivoting shoe, 12 configurations match, including RIDGID RNKSRS01B, R8648B and R8648K. Their matched manuals document the rotating clamp and pivot shoe but not indexed shoe settings. Read the RNKSRS01B, R8648B and R8648K reviews; run the same five-answer feature combination.

Adding both an included battery and charger narrows that same current compact-control group to six packages. RIDGID R8648K qualifies with its documented 2.0 Ah pack and charger; tool-only R8648B and RNKSRS01B do not. The R8648K battery and charger model numbers are not stated. Compare R8648K with R8648B and RNKSRS01B, then run the same seven-answer feature-and-package combination.

Compact M18 saw plus battery and charger

When compact one-handed M18 format and a supplied battery and charger are all non-negotiable, three currently reviewed kit SKUs remain: 2625-21, 2625-21CT and 2719-21.

The 2625-21 and 2625-21CT packages share the reviewed 2625-20 HACKZALL saw but list different battery models; the 2719-21 is the distinct M18 FUEL brushless kit, with XC5.0 battery and charger listed. Its exact package list names the tool family but not a separate included saw code, so inspect the suffix and box list on the exact offer. See the exact compact-kit shortlist.

Compact M12 saw plus battery and charger

With current compact one-handed M12 operation and both battery and charger required, the reviewed match is the Milwaukee 2520-21XC kit.

The exact kit page identifies its included saw as 2520-20, plus an M12 XC4.0 battery and charger. Tool-only 2520-20 does not meet those package conditions, and older non-FUEL 2420-20 is separately assessed without the required in-box components. The 2520-21XC card's 3.2 lb figure is explicitly “Weight Excluding Battery,” not total kit weight. Find this exact current M12 format and package combination. Read the 2520-21XC package review and confirm the listed contents on the specific offer.

Orbital action plus battery and charger

Six current reviewed packages combine selectable orbital action with both an included battery and charger: Milwaukee 2722-21HD, SKIL RS5884-1A, Makita XGT GRJ02M1, Bosch GSA18V-125K14A/GSA18V-110B14, and FLEX FX2271-1C. Tool-only 2722-20, GRJ02Z, Bosch GSA18V-125N and FLEX FX2271-Z share documented orbital bodies but do not meet both package requirements. Find this same control-and-package intersection.

The 2722-20 bare tool shares its documented saw features but lists neither power component in the package; the 2722-21HD kit lists both and leaves the exact battery part disputed on its manufacturer page. Inspect the included pack line before ordering. Test the combined orbital-and-package requirements in the finder. Read the 2722-21HD package assessment.

Match a compact saw's platform to its kit contents

For current compact one-handed DEWALT 12V MAX operation with both a battery and charger required, DCS312G1 is the match; tool-only DCS312B does not meet the package conditions.

The DCS312G1 page lists one DCB124 3.0Ah battery and a charger, while DCS312B lists the saw and two blades with the battery system sold separately. Read the DCS312G1 kit assessment and verify the DCB124 and charger against the exact offer. Find the exact 12V format, platform and package intersection.

For current compact one-handed DEWALT 20V MAX operation with a documented pivoting shoe, battery and charger required, DCS369P1 and DCS369E1 match; DCS369B is tool-only.

The P1 page lists a 5.0Ah battery and charger; E1 lists a compact 1.7Ah battery, charger and additional kit components. The B page explicitly says battery and charger are sold separately. Read the separate DCS369P1 and DCS369E1 package assessments, then verify the exact suffix and box contents. Find the exact 20V shoe and kit intersection.

DEWALT 20V two-handed kit with shoe movement

When a two-handed DEWALT 20V MAX saw must also have a documented pivoting shoe, battery and charger, the current library returns five packages: DCS387D1, DCS387P1, DCS382H1, DCS380P1 and DCS384WW1; bare-tool DCS384B does not include the needed battery or charger.

The first four kits list different packs and chargers: DCS387D1 lists a 2.0Ah DCB203 and DCB112 charger; DCS387P1 lists a 5.0Ah DCB205 and an unnamed charger; DCS382H1 lists a 5.0Ah DCBP520 POWERSTACK and DCB1106; DCS380P1 lists a 5.0Ah DCB205 and DCB115. DCS384WW1 lists DCB2108 8Ah and DCB1106 with the DCS384 saw and blade; the separate DCS384B page lists a tool-only purchase. Their saw controls and supplied equipment differ; read each exact assessment. The DCS367P1 includes battery and charger and has a verified five-pound saw, but the exact page does not establish shoe movement. Check the two-handed, platform, shoe and kit requirements together in the finder.

Compact SKIL package: feature fit and box contents are separate questions

For current compact cordless saws with a documented tool-free clamp and pivoting shoe, eight assessed configurations match, including CMCS340B, the SKIL RS5828 packages and DEWALT DCS369 variants. The CMCS340 manual allows one hand on its main handle while the other stays clear of cutting action and the work is clamped; SKIL's safety directions still call for a firm two-hand hold. Read the specific CMCS340B review and distinct tool-only RS582801, standard-kit RS582802 and USB-C-kit RS5828A-11 assessments. CRAFTSMAN V20 and SKIL are not public platform options here, so generic cordless fit is not cross-brand battery compatibility; CMCS340B's battery and charger are sold separately. Find the same current compact, cordless, tool-free and pivot-shoe conditions.

Adding both in-box power components removes tool-only RS582801; the SKIL packages remaining are RS582802 and the separately specified RS5828A-11 USB-C kit. CMCS340B is another compact example that drops out because its exact -B page says the battery and charger are sold separately. RS582802 lists a 2.0Ah battery and PWR JUMP charger without naming those component models; RS5828A-11 identifies a BY5020A-00 2.0Ah USB-C pack, PD0020B-00 20W charger and cable. Compare the exact CMCS340B, RS582802 and RS5828A-11 package reviews. That is an in-box distinction only: confirm the seller's exact suffix and contents, and do not infer a complete kit weight from saw-only figures. Find the same current feature conditions with both battery and charger required.

Full-size controls and a complete cordless package

Twenty-three current packages meet the full-size cordless, pivot-shoe, tool-free blade-change, battery-included and charger-included conditions; FLEX FX2241-1A and FX2271-1C are two exact kit additions. Bosch GSA18V-125K14A adds its 8 Ah pack and BC1880 charger; GSA18V-125N is bare tool. Makita XGT GRJ01M1, GT500M, GT501M and GT401M1D1 join GRJ02M1 and the SKIL kit examples. The XGT bundles contain distinct tools and battery mixes; GRJ01 has no orbital setting. Find the same full-size controls and both in-box power components.

The GRJ01M1 package qualifies because the GRJ01 manual documents a six-position shoe and lever blade release, while its exact kit page lists one BL4040 4.0Ah battery and a DC40RA charger. Its shared GRJ01 saw has two speed ranges but no orbital setting; tool-only GRJ01Z fails the battery and charger conditions. The RS582902 kit lists a 2.0Ah battery, charger, wood blade and Allen key; its linked manual names the RS582901 saw body and documents pivoting shoe and tool-less clamp. Orbital selection is not established, and the exact page does not give a tool-only weight or component part numbers. The RS5884-1A also has pivoting shoe, tool-free blade change and both power components, and additionally documents orbital selection with a 4.0Ah battery. These suffix-specific packages join other brands' full-size kits; they do not share a named public platform answer. Find the same full-size control and kit requirements.

Makita XRJ04 format, platform and kit contents

The current full-size Makita LXT finder set contains four configurations: tool-only XRJ04Z and XRJ05Z, plus 5.0Ah kits XRJ04T and XRJ05T.

Compare the exact XRJ04Z tool-only and XRJ04T kit reviews; both document the XRJ04 saw family’s 1-1/4-inch stroke, but the T package lists two BL1850B batteries, charger, blade and case. The current-only LXT query preserves all four full-size configuration candidates: see the current format-and-platform set.

When earlier models are included, the full-size cordless Makita LXT set grows to nine configurations: the four current XRJ04/XRJ05 tool-only and kit records plus five earlier models.

The earlier set includes XRJ02 (the two-3.0Ah kit), XRJ02Z (tool-only with accessories beyond battery/charger not fully enumerated), shorter-body XRJ03Z (tool-only), and discontinued XRJ04M/XRJ05M two-4.0Ah kits. XRJ02Z and XRJ03Z cannot be substituted for the XRJ02 package, and Makita's replacement links do not prove current inventory. Compare all nine full-size Makita LXT records with earlier products enabled.

With current-only full-size Makita LXT operation and both battery and charger required, XRJ04T and XRJ05T are the two package matches; the corresponding tool-only Z versions do not qualify.

The XRJ04T page names two 5.0Ah batteries, rapid charger, blade and case, while XRJ04Z explicitly excludes battery and charger. Find the exact current platform and package intersection at the current Makita kit finder.

When earlier models are also allowed, the full-size cordless Makita LXT set with an included battery and charger has five configurations: XRJ04T and XRJ05T plus earlier XRJ02, XRJ04M and XRJ05M.

The older XRJ02 catalog entry lists two 3.0Ah packs and charger; XRJ04M and XRJ05M list two 4.0Ah packs and charger. The exact kit generation and condition matter; no old listing proves present availability. Find the same Makita format and battery/charger needs with earlier models enabled.
